Terms of Use

1. About the Platform

myOlympiad.kz is an academic olympiad organization platform operated in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. The platform enables students, parents, teachers, and schools to:

• Discover and register for academic olympiad competitions at city, national, and international levels.
• Access study materials, practice problems, past papers, and video lessons.
• Receive official participation certificates and competition diplomas.
• Participate in national team selection for international olympiads.
• Manage school-level olympiad participation through an institutional portal.

These Terms govern all use of the platform, including the website, any mobile interfaces, and any related services.

2. Eligibility

To use myOlympiad.kz, you must:

• Be a student currently enrolled in grades 5–12 at an accredited school in Kazakhstan, or a parent, teacher, or school administrator acting on behalf of such a student.
• Provide accurate, complete, and truthful registration information.
• If under 18, have a parent or guardian who consents to the account creation and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
• Not be barred from receiving services under applicable law.

International users (e.g., partner organizations, delegation observers) may access limited platform features as approved by myOlympiad.kz administration.

3. Account Registration

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You must not share your account with another person or allow others to access your account.
• You must notify us immediately at info@myolympiad.kz if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• Each person may hold only one individual account. Schools may hold one institutional account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or that violate these Terms.

4. Olympiad Registration & Participation

4.1 Eligibility for Competitions

Each olympiad has specific eligibility criteria including grade level, subject, and residency requirements. It is your responsibility to verify that you meet all criteria before registering. Registrations that do not meet eligibility requirements may be disqualified without refund.

4.2 Registration Deadlines

Registration deadlines are firm. Late registrations will not be accepted. We send reminder notifications, but it is your responsibility to monitor deadlines in your dashboard.

4.3 Academic Integrity

All participants agree to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity. The following are strictly prohibited:

• Using unauthorized materials, devices, or assistance during examinations.
• Impersonating another person or submitting work that is not your own.
• Sharing exam content, questions, or answers during or after the examination window.
• Attempting to access, alter, or tamper with examination systems or results.
• Colluding with other participants to gain an unfair advantage.

Violations may result in disqualification, revocation of previously issued certificates, account suspension, and referral to the student’s school or relevant authorities.

4.4 Results and Certifications

All results are final once published, unless a formal appeal is submitted within 7 days of result publication. Official certificates are issued digitally and carry a unique verification code. Certificates may not be altered, forged, or misrepresented.

5. Study Materials & Intellectual Property

All content available on myOlympiad.kz — including problem sets, video lessons, articles, guides, interface designs, logos, and branding — is the intellectual property of myOlympiad.kz or its licensed contributors.

• You may access and use study materials for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only.
• You may not reproduce, redistribute, sell, sublicense, or publicly display any platform content without written permission.
• Downloading content for offline personal use is permitted only where explicitly indicated by a download button or feature.
• Creating derivative works from platform content without authorization is prohibited.

Content created by users (e.g., uploaded documents, submitted solutions) remains your property. By uploading it, you grant myOlympiad.kz a non-exclusive license to use it for platform operations and quality improvement.

6. Prohibited Conduct

When using myOlympiad.kz, you agree not to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or official olympiad rule.
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users, staff, or administrators.
• Post or transmit offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or another user’s account.
• Introduce malware, viruses, or malicious code.
• Scrape, crawl, or automatically harvest data from the platform without written permission.
• Misrepresent your identity, credentials, or affiliation.
• Use the platform for commercial purposes without prior written approval.
• Interfere with the operation or integrity of the platform or its servers.
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or eligibility limits.

7. Fees & Payments

Basic account registration and participation in most olympiads is free. Where fees apply (e.g., premium study subscriptions or certain competition registration fees):

• All fees are stated in Kazakhstani Tenge (KZT) unless otherwise specified.
• Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. myOlympiad.kz does not store payment card data.
• Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
• Competition registration fees are non-refundable once the registration window has closed.
• In the event of a technical error that prevents your participation through no fault of your own, a full refund will be issued.

8. International Delegations

Students selected to represent Kazakhstan at international olympiads (IMO, IPhO, IBO, IOI, etc.) agree to the following additional conditions:

• Participation in required training camps and selection exams is mandatory unless a documented medical excuse is provided.
• Selected students grant myOlympiad.kz permission to use their name, school, grade, and competition results in official communications, press releases, and platform announcements.
• Delegates must comply with the rules and code of conduct of the relevant international olympiad organization.
• Travel and accommodation arrangements are coordinated by myOlympiad.kz in partnership with the Ministry of Education. Any additional personal expenses are the responsibility of the student or their family.
• Withdrawal from a confirmed international delegation without valid cause may affect future selection eligibility.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

9.1 Platform Availability

We strive to maintain 99%+ uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance. We are not liable for losses caused by platform downtime, provided we have given reasonable notice.

9.2 Accuracy of Information

Study materials, competition details, and platform content are provided in good faith and updated regularly. However, myOlympiad.kz makes no warranty that any content is error-free, complete, or current at all times. Users are encouraged to verify critical information independently.

9.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, myOlympiad.kz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, missed competition opportunities, or decisions made in reliance on platform content. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Account Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms or our academic integrity policy.
• Contain fraudulent or misleading information.
• Engage in any conduct that harms the platform, other users, or third parties.
• Remain inactive for more than 24 consecutive months.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting info@myolympiad.kz. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed per our Privacy Policy, but official competition records (diplomas, rankings) are retained as permanent academic records.

If your account is suspended due to a Terms violation, you may appeal by contacting info@myolympiad.kz within 14 days of the suspension notice.

11. Links to Third-Party Sites

Our platform may contain links to external websites (e.g., international olympiad organizations, university pages, partner institutions). These links are provided for convenience only. myOlympiad.kz does not control and is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of third-party sites. Visiting those sites is at your own risk.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the platform shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.

If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Almaty, Kazakhstan, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or best practices. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date. If changes are material, we will notify registered users via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms provided at the point of registration for specific competitions, constitute the entire agreement between you and myOlympiad.kz. They supersede all prior communications, representations, or agreements. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
